There’s a supplement called HMB that was once overlooked, but that is quickly changing.
It has been shown to accelerate muscle growth.
It also reduces muscle breakdown.
I consider this the ideal supplement to take when you are trying to get shredded and eating in a caloric deficit.
It helps you preserve all muscle – and even increase muscle mass – when calories are a bit lower than normal.
Here’s the study[1] that shows the tremendous benefits of HMB.

This is a systematic review involving 1,137 people and multiple studies.
They looked at a broad spectrum of older adults.
Here are the main findings.
1. HMB was shown to double protein synthesis and reduce muscle protein breakdown by half. – “HMB (either Ca-HMB or Free Acid-HMB) was able to increase muscle protein synthesis (MPS) two fold and reduce muscle protein breakdown by half.”
2. HMB stays in your system for up to 12 hours. – “HMB peaks in the blood around 2-3 hours after taking it and stays elevated for up to 12 hours.”
3. Can increase fat loss as long as you are lifting weights. – “HMB in combination with resistance exercise resulted in (relative) lower values for whole body fat.”
4. Calcium HMB is better absorbed than the free acid form. – “The difference in plasma HMB response suggests a slightly better systemic bioavailability after Calcium HMB intake.”
After hearing about all the benefits.
Including HMB in Kino Aminos was a must.

Kino Aminos uses Calcium HMB, as shown in the research, to be the superior, most bioavailable form of HMB.
Don’t settle for the cheap version.
Also, you aren’t going to get a significant amount of HMB in your diet.
You need to supplement it.
This is why we added it to Kino Aminos.

*I’ve read that you would have to eat 5,000+ avocados to get just a few grams of HMB.
The general public doesn’t really understand aminos.
What I’ve seen is guys will add an amino acid supplement when they are eating in a massive calorie surplus.
That isn’t the time when it is most effective.
I almost think of it as a calorie-free way to get protein.
This is an oversimplification, but it is a way to get the building blocks of muscle without adding many calories.
It is absolutely PERFECT when you are cutting.

The leaner you get, the more you will benefit from Kino Aminos.
As I discussed in yesterday’s email…
Your body has a protective mechanism that increases your appetite as you lose body fat and get lean.
As you lose body fat, your body increases Ghrelin (your hunger hormone) and decreases Leptin (your satiety hormone).
It makes it tough to stick to your diet as you hit 10% body fat and lower.
Here’s that email if you missed it.
The Leaner You Are – The Hungrier You Get?
But the point is that things get tricky as you approach 10% body fat.
- It’s easier to lose muscle.
- It can be harder to gain muscle.
- Increased appetite can make it nearly impossible to stick to your diet.
Kino Aminos solves all these problems.
You don’t need these when you are eating in a calorie surplus.
But if getting shredded while adding muscle is your goal?
There’s nothing better.
