My Father’s Favorite Book

My father’s favortie book was Think and Grow Rich by Napolean Hill.

I think this is a must-read.

Napoleon Hill claimed to have interviewed over 500 self-made millionaires over a span of 20 years.

He wrote this book on what he learned from those interviews.

There is a ton of wisdom packed into the pages.

I’ve read it several times.

Each time I read it, I discover something new.

So many good lessons and quotes.

There’s a really good quote about the importance of a burning desire.

Here are my favorite parts of that quote.

“All achievement… must begin with an intense, BURNING DESIRE for something definite… Nature wraps up in the impulse of STRONG DESIRE “that something” which recognizes no such word as impossible, and accepts no such reality as failure.”

What I get out of this is that if your desire is strong enough, you will not fail.

Things may take longer than you expect.

The route may be slightly different than you imagined.

But if you truly desire something with enough intensity, you will succeed.

I think many guys are struggling because they lack desire.

There are so many things we are exposed to that have numbing effect.

  • Doom scrolling social media
  • Access to unlimited porn
  • Video games
  • Marijuana

We sort of get rewarded now for not doing anything.

Free dopamine hits without effort or achievement.

You combine this with Low T levels, and you have a recipe for going through life on autopilot without achieving anything.

Guys need to snap out of this trap.

Find what you want…

And light a f*cking flame of DEEP desire for it.

You can’t simply hope for it.

I honestly think you can’t do this well without addressing your testosterone levels.

When your t levels are low a couple of bad things happen.

  • Your zest for life is gone, and you don’t really desire anything.
  • Even if you do desire something, you will lack the drive to go after it hard.
