Will You Lose Muscle On Vacation?

Alright, I’m back in Toronto after traveling to Spain for the past 10 days.

Had a great time.

I did a ton of walking but only lifted weights twice.

I wasn’t worried about losing muscle…

But find it funny this article popped up on T Nation this morning.

Talk about timing!

This was written by Christian Thibaudeau.

One of T Nation’s best writers.

Here are the most important points.

  • First, breaking your program for a week won’t kill your progress.
  • You will lose ZERO muscle mass if you stop training for one week. But you might feel smaller or flat for three reasons: less glycogen storage, less muscle tone, and less muscular inflammation.
  • If you can’t train for two weeks, you will lose, again, exactly ZERO muscle. You actually won’t lose strength, either.
  • It’s only in the third week that you start to lose some muscle, but not as much as you think. We’re talking grams, not pounds.
  • After some time away from training, it only takes one workout to regain muscle tone and feel full again.

Don’t sweat it.

I’d say the most important thing is staying lean.

The way to take care of this is simply to walk and explore.

I’d say I walked a MINIMUM of 15,000-20,000 steps per day.

Walked like crazy in the streets of Barcelona.

Explored the beaches of Ibiza.

The funny thing about Ibiza is people talk about the partying and nightlife.

I really prefer it during the day.

People get sloppy drunk at night, and I prefer to avoid that.

I went to a club one night I was there…

But after that, I retired early in my hotel room.

Here’s actual footage of me hiding from the nighttime party zombies of Ibiza, LMAO.

Okay, it wasn’t THAT bad going out.

The staying up until 4 AM thing in a packed club just gets old after a while.

It’s fun for a couple of years when you are younger.

Going clubbing just feels like living the same night over-and-over again at some point.

Plus Ibiza is so pretty during the day.

A lot of people who stay up all night in a club miss that.

I walked and really felt like I got to see the beauty of the island.

All this walking kept me lean.

This increased activity also allowed me to eat more than normal while staying lean.

I think Kino Mojo helped.

High free T levels are always good for keeping the body composition dialed in.

But walking was key.

Anyway, if you are on vacation don’t worry about muscle loss.

Stay active and explore and you won’t need to worry about gaining fat either.

Glad to be back home.

Talk Soon,

P.S.

A big Kino Clothing launch happening this Thursday.

We’ve been sold out of a lot of items for several months.

We’re restocking a bunch of items.

But I’d say the clothing items that will go the fastest are…

  • The French terry Kino Yacht Shirts (short and long sleeve)
  • Kino Swim Shorts

These just pair so well together.

Look for an email on Thursday.

Good time to add some signature pieces to your wardrobe.
