This is kind of funny.
I was chatting with a few friends about mistakes they had made in the past when it came to getting lean.
One of my pals said this.
“I used to do super-long workouts and get incredibly sore. Then I’d think to myself…I probably need the extra calories to repair these sore muscles.”
I did that A LOT!
This is a common mistake because it feels like the right thing to do.
You are sore, so you justify eating more…
“My body probably needs this extra food”.
Crazy intense training and eating a ton only work if you are using steroids.
The reason Ronnie Coleman was able to stay lean while training and eating like this was all the pharmaceuticals he took.
If you are a natural, you need to keep calories down to stay lean.
No way you are getting shredded off a 4,000 – 6,000 calorie diet if you are a natural.
With steroids, there is better nutrient partitioning.
So more of the food consumed gets shuttled into the muscle cells and less stored as fat.
To get lean as a natural, you need to keep calories in check.
This is why workouts need to be brief.
You don’t want to train 6 days per week either.
I always get my leanest off 2-3 brief, intense workouts per week.
With 2-3 workouts per week, I can control my appetite.
I’m able to keep the calories down.
This also gives me time to walk more, which really helps me lean out.
When I was training 5-6 times per week, I always felt rundown, and this led to me eating more food and moving less throughout the day.
This is a bad combo if you want to get lean.
Most guys need to adjust a few things.
- Train 2-3 days per week
- Lift with laser focus and proper intensity
- Get progressively stronger on key lifts
- Create a calorie deficit with diet
- Walk your ass off
If you want the exact blueprint with all the details?
Honestly, this course pays for itself with the money you will save from not bingeing on food.
Those 5-6 day per week plans cause mad hunger.
This 2-3 day approach is much better.
