Negative comments are all part of putting yourself out there online.
But today I’m doing a better job than normal at this.
I have a TikTok video that is going viral.
I posted it a while back, but it is picking up steam…
It’s a shoulder press test.

It’s seriously pissing people off.
A good goal for shoulders is to be able to press half your weight, per dumbbell, for 6 reps.
So if you weigh 180 pounds?
You should be able to press with 90-pound dumbbells for six reps.
Once I was able to use 90-pound dumbbells is when my shoulder development really took off.

I think the main reason people are irritated is that they are unable to achieve this strength standard.
I get it…
I used to struggle with shoulder strength as well.
Most people mess up because they hit shoulders as an afterthought.
They work it on the same day as chest & triceps.
Or they will hit shoulders 2 days after working chest and tri’s.

After doing heavy chest exercises the “pressing muscles” and local nerves need time to recover.
To get REALLY strong with shoulders?
You need 3 full days rest from any chest/triceps work.
As soon as I did this…
My shoulder strength began to F*CKN rocket.

Here’s a video I posted up on TikTok yesterday where I’m using 120-pound dumbbells in the shoulder press.
This was only made possible by giving priority to shoulder training.
- Adequate rest
- A perfect number of reverse pyramid sets
- The right amount of overall volume
It took me a while to dial this in but…
I cover it in detail in Movie Star Masterclass.
This in my opinion is the ideal strategy for building incredible shoulders.
Use it!

P.S.
I never let negative comments on my videos affect me.
I realize that most of these negative remarks come from a place of frustration.
All I can do is share tips to help people get unstuck.
If I can help people, even the ones who are negative at first, I feel like I’m making a difference.
