I frickin love summer in Toronto.
And it’s been warming up this week.
There is no other place I’d rather be in July – September.
It’s hard to explain but once the warm summer weather hits the energy in the city becomes magical.
It simply feels good to be here.
Toronto is basically the New York of Canada.
*We have a population of 2.7 Million and New York has a population of over 8 million.
Toronto is a big city but still manageable.
The people are a bit friendlier and it is a bit cleaner than NYC (both great cities).
A typical summer night out starts like this…
Typically we will meet in a friend’s Condo downtown and make cocktails before heading out.
*Hard to beat a pre-funk with friends, vibing to some RÜFÜS DU SOL tunes while sipping on a cocktail.
Speaking of cocktails…
I’m really digging margaritas these days.
Here’s my favorite margarita recipe, the “Kino Marg”.
- 3 oz Reposado Tequila
- 2 oz Grand Marnier
- 2 tsp Agave Nectar
- 1.5 Squeezed Limes
This makes 2 margaritas.
You will definitely want a lime squeezer for this.
*You can use any brand of Reposado tequila… and if you want to make this a bit cheaper you can use Triple Sec in place of Grand Marnier.
Instructions:
Step 1: Squeeze out lime juice from 1 and 1/2 limes into a small glass.
Step 2: Fill two cups with ice and set aside.
Step 3: Fill a shaker cup halfway with ice and add lime juice, agave nectar, reposado tequila, and Grand Marnier.
Step 4: Cover and shake for 20 seconds. Strain the cocktail over the ice.
This is a f*ckn amazing margarita…
Especially if you use a quality reposado tequila.
*You can also use Cointreau in place of Grand Marnier if you have that handy.
The Kino Marg has fewer calories than a typical margarita.
Most margarita recipes include Sweet and Sour Mix which adds 150-200 unnecessary calories.
Sweet and Sour mix is also too sweet in my opinion.
It also overpowers the tequila and lime flavors.
This is so much better.

P.S.
If I know I’m going to be out late I’ll take a serving of Octane right before having a couple of drinks.
I swear…
A serving of Octane followed by 1-2 Kino Margs gives me the perfect energy for going out.
I’m relaxed.
The music sounds incredible.
I just feel on for the night.
Try it next time you go out with friends.
