I just stumbled across a video by Peter Attia.
Talking about how a 30-year-old man today has the same testosterone levels as a 50-year-old man did forty years ago.
Not good!
He also points out that increased body fat (and the inflammation it brings) is likely the reason behind this.
- More fat means higher estrogen conversion.
- More inflammation means less T production.
He’s on the right track about that, but things are even worse than he described.
Recent research[1] shows today’s 30-year-olds have T levels of 359-498.
This is closer to what a 60-year-old had in the 1980s[2].

But he’s also missing another big issue.
Even when you control for BMI…
We’re still seeing bigger drops in testosterone.
We are exposed to more toxins than men were 40 years ago.
And the environmental toxins we’re exposed to, especially plastic byproducts and endocrine disruptors, are building up in our bodies.
Scientists have recently confirmed this.
Your fat cells aren’t just sitting there – They’re actively storing environmental toxins[3], creating a vicious cycle.

The more fat you carry, the more storage space these chemicals have to settle in and mess with your hormones.
So not only does carrying extra weight trigger more estrogen…
It also creates a toxic reservoir that keeps dumping these hormone-disrupting chemicals back into your system.
Double whammy.
In this same video, Peter is a little off when talking about Testosterone production and sleep.
Quote – “We only make testosterone when we sleep.”

We need good, deep sleep to crank up luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), the signals for testosterone production.
But you’re still making testosterone at other points of the day.
Workouts, for example, can help boost production (provided you’re not overtraining).
The “sleep is everything” angle is a bit oversimplified.
Still, you should absolutely optimize for better rest.
Blackout curtains, cooler temps, no phone in bed, etc.
And yes, body fat matters.
But it’s not the only factor.

Getting lean is critical, but you can’t ignore the insane amounts of plastics and chemicals we’re exposed to daily now.
Even once you get lean, you are still exposed to these toxins.
So if you’re cutting body fat yet still feeling low energy, low drive, and have minimal morning wood?
It’s probably these hidden toxins hurting your free T.
Here’s what I recommend…
- Stay Lean: Less fat means less estrogen and fewer toxins stored in fat cells.
- Sleep Deep: Aim for that 7-8 hours. Tape trash bags over the windows Dexter-style if you have to—whatever it takes to get that room pitch black.
- Block Estrogen & Disruptors: Certain nutrients can help flush these out. Boron is clutch here, and so is Tongkat Ali.
- Elevate T with Mojo: Kino Mojo has both Boron and Tongkat Ali (Eurycoma longifolia) to help boost free T and the effects of estrogenic compounds in our environment. We’ve sold out six or seven times because guys feel the difference fast.
One NEW thing I just decided to do.
If you subscribe monthly to Kino Mojo or any of our stacks containing Mojo, like The Mojo Stack, you get FREE membership to the Mojo Dojo group.

This is a private group on the Skool platform, which includes my “High T Fat Loss” and “High T Muscle Building” systems.
Plus, full video demos, community, and coaching calls.
Modern men are facing unprecedented hormone disruption.
