The number one question I get asked about tirzepatide goes something like this:
“Greg, I want to try tirzepatide. I want the benefits of getting lean, but I’m worried about the long-term effects.”
I totally understand that concern.
But I’m not worried about it, because I’ve been studying the data closely.
And one of the coolest findings came out just recently.
At the Aging Research & Drug Discovery conference held at Harvard University, researchers from Eli Lilly presented an epigenetic sub-study looking at 15 different biological aging clocks in people taking tirzepatide. [1]
The early findings suggest tirzepatide may do more than help people lose weight.
It may actually slow down the biological aging process.

Here’s What the Researchers Found
Researchers looked at 71 participants over age 50 from Eli Lilly’s SURMOUNT-5 clinical trial and examined 15 different biological aging clocks. [2]
These clocks use molecular markers in the blood to estimate how quickly different aspects of the body are aging.
In participants taking tirzepatide, all 15 biological clocks advanced more slowly than chronological time.
Over about 1.38 years of actual time, two of the clocks showed significantly slower aging, coming in 0.7 to 1.1 years “younger” than the time that had passed.
Some individual clocks even moved backward. [3]

Now, this doesn’t mean tirzepatide has been proven to reverse aging.
These are preliminary findings, and without an untreated control group, we can’t know how much of the change came from the medication itself versus weight loss and improved eating habits.
But it’s an exciting signal.
The Benefits May Go Far Beyond Fat Loss
I’ve been using tirzepatide as a tool to make getting lean and staying lean dramatically easier.

For me, the biggest benefit is simple: less food noise, better appetite control, and the ability to enjoy food without constantly fighting hunger.
But what’s especially interesting is what may be happening beneath the surface.
Tirzepatide activates both GLP-1 and GIP receptors, influencing appetite, blood sugar regulation, insulin sensitivity, and broader metabolic function.
And researchers are now investigating whether those metabolic improvements could translate into slower biological aging.
Of course, some of these benefits may come directly from losing excess body fat.

The exciting question is whether tirzepatide also has protective effects beyond weight loss alone, and that’s what future research will need to show.
The Secret Is Getting the Dose Right
Here’s where I think people get tirzepatide wrong.
They assume more medication automatically means better results.
But the goal shouldn’t be to suppress your appetite so aggressively that you can barely eat.
You want enough appetite control to make fat loss easier while still being able to eat sufficient protein, train hard, recover, and maintain your muscle.
Losing muscle, feeling exhausted, and struggling to eat enough are not the outcomes we’re after.
The goal is to get lean, stay strong, feel incredible, and support long-term health.
That’s exactly why I built Kino Clinic.

Our approach focuses on personalized, clinician-guided dosing to help patients find an effective dose that supports fat loss while minimizing unnecessary side effects.
We’d rather get your dose right than put you on more medication than you need.
And with emerging research suggesting tirzepatide may have benefits extending well beyond the scale, I’m more excited than ever about its potential.
Staying lean without constantly fighting hunger is already a huge win, and if future research confirms real anti-aging benefits, that would take it to a whole new level.
