Tongkat Ali – What Science Says About Optimal Dosing

If you are on my list, you probably know that Kino Mojo is my single best-selling supplement.

Here are a few good ones.

This study used 63 moderately stressed subjects (32 men and 31 women).

Subjects were given either 200 mg/day of standardized hot-water extract of Tongkat Ali root or a placebo for 4 weeks.

Stress hormones and moods were observed after 4 weeks.

The Tongkat Ali group increased testosterone levels by 37% and reduced cortisol levels by 16%.

The Tongkat Ali group also had reductions in tension (11%), anger (12%), and confusion (15%) compared to the placebo group.

A 37% increase in testosterone is a big deal.

Especially in just 4 weeks.

Also, reducing cortisol is good since cortisol can contribute to belly fat.

This study involved 76 older men with low testosterone levels.

The participants took 200 mg of a standardized extract of Tongkat Ali daily for one month.

By the end of the study, over 90% of participants had testosterone in the normal range.

Again, I’m actually surprised at the impressive results for just 1 month.

It would have been cool to see what would have happened in 2-3 months.

This study involved 25 physically active seniors (13 men and 12 women) aged 57-72 years.

They took 400 mg of Tongkat Ali extract daily for 5 weeks.

After 5 weeks, the participant’s Free Testosterone on average increased by 61.2%!

There was also a notable increase in muscle strength in both male and female participants, measured by a handgrip test.

My only complaint about these studies?

I wish they would have been done over a longer period of time.

Here’s an example of what can happen over a longer time frame.

Back to Tongkat Ali studies.

Most of the studies use doses of 200 mg per day.

This is the same amount we use in Mojo.

You don’t need more than that.
